Last week Bancroft Public Library lost one of our most beloved past employees, Peg Culver. For many, many years when you entered Bancroft Public Library the first person you saw was Peg. She dedicated 43 years of her life to working at the library, 24 of them as the Library Director. During those years she welcomed people to the library, helped them find a good book and with anything else that was needed. She loved the library and worked to bring new ideas and technology to the space. Anyone that knew Peg will remember her as being genuinely kind, helpful, and friendly, along with her passion for her work at the library. The plaque in the Reading Room is in her honor, acknowledging her 43 years of service to our library and community. Peg was the heart and soul of our little library; she made it a special place where people loved to visit and where everyone was welcome. We will truly miss seeing her and it is with heavy hearts we say good-bye.
