Bancroft Library Applies to Town of Salem for Additional Funding for 2025 to Benefit Town’s Children and Teens

Bancroft Public Library is applying to the Town of Salem for additional funding for the 2025 budget year.

Additional funding from the Town would allow the library to create an after-school program to benefit the children and teens who use the library during the afternoon, and it would allow for a another part-time job to be created in the town.

Over the past five years, Bancroft Library has seen an upward trend of children and teenagers using the library during after-school hours and during the summer. The purpose of asking for more funding from the Town is to strengthen the library staff’s ability to provide a safe and welcoming place for the youth (and subsequently the adults) who use the library.
